Gas Prices and the Economy

Well, as you all know, our economy is failing and gas prices that are continuing to rise are playing a leading role. I don't know how everybody feels about this subject but it is just crazy. In my hometown, gas prices have reached a high of $3.30 and that is just a small town in Arkansas. With gas prices being that high around a little royal area, I am terrified to think about what it is like in big cities. The thing that bothers me the most about it is the fact that the other sources of powering an automobile are not being produced because they are being sold to the oil companies. So as the saying goes, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. I mean what do the oil companies think that their going to do with all their money when the economy fails, and even though no one wants to admit it, our country is coming to that point. I am wondering how everybody else feels.
